Scotland: Through The Seasons

Scotland Through the Seasons (working title) will be a dedicated project that intentionally captures the country’s seasonal highlights, seeking out the particular light, colour and atmosphere that define Scotland at every time of year. From the bracken-gold warmth of autumn in the Highlands and the crisp, clear blues of midwinter coastal skies to the ephemeral blossom and freshwater greens of spring, and the long, luminous evenings of summer, the work will document how landscape and cityscape transform with the calendar. Each image will prioritise mood and authenticity—showing fog-draped glens, frost-edged peaks, peat-smoke evenings and sunlit cobbled closes in Edinburgh—while exploring patterns of weather, light and human presence that make each season distinct. The series will be shot across the Highlands, Edinburgh, the Borders and other favourite locations, produced with consistent visual intent so the collection reads as a coherent study of Scotland’s year-round character.
